<p>A process for the destruction of NOx in sulphuric acid is provided which preferably compprises the addition of a reducing agent, such as sulfamic acid, to the product acid, followed by the addition of an oxidizing agent such as hydrogen peroxide. The process allows for the relatively rapid removal of NOx under typically encountered plant conditions, while minimizing the excess use of NOx-removing chemicals. A lower cost, safer method for NOx removal is achieved.</p> |
