<p>PURPOSE: To obtain an adsorbent essentially consisting of a solid material and capable of adsorbing nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxide to reduce air pollution and being reused as a fertilizer after adsorption by mixing alkaline earth metal, potassium carbonate, activated carbon and proper amt. of water and cast molding the mixture. CONSTITUTION: The solid main body of this adsorbent for nitrogen oxides and CO2 is produced by mixing alkaline earth metal (bivalent ion), potassium carbonate K2 CO3 (univalent ion), activated carbon and a proper amt. of water and then cast-molding the mixture. By this method, the obtd. solid body has a large surface area and strong adsorption power and can easily be produced. This adsorbent can widely be used for various field, for example, it can be installed in the base part of walls near the road with heavy traffic or directly installed in a power plant, general factory, or inside a muffler of a car. After adsorption of nitrogen oxides and CO2 , the adsorbent can be reused as a fertilizer. Namely, since it adsorbs nitrogen oxides and carbon dioxides, it can be used as a fertilizer for all plants.</p> |
