PURPOSE: To obtain the subject film comprising a dicarboxylic acid and/or its ester-forming derivative, a dihydroxy compound having a specific structure and a glycol, and excellent in mechanical characteristics, scratch resistance, dimensional stability, etc. CONSTITUTION: This film contains (A) a dicarboxylic acid and/or its ester- forming derivative, preferably terephthalic acid or isophthalic acid, (B) a hydroxy compound having an aromatic ring on the main chain or side chain and represented by the formula (R1 is 2-4C alkylene; R2 -R5 are H, 1-4C alkyl, aryl, aralkyl), preferably 9,9-bis[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy)phenyl]-fluorene, and (C) a glycol as raw materials. The film is preferably a biaxially oriented film, and is obtained by melt-extruding a linear polyester resin comprising the components A-C, heat-setting the obtained non-oriented film and subsequently longitudinally and latitudinally successively biaxially orienting the film. |
