<p>The present invention provides a shape-memory hemostatic staple (2). An article of manufacture comprising a shape-memory nickel-titanium alloy staple, said staple composed of 100 % shape-memory nickel-titanium alloy. Also provided is method of inducing hemostasis in a bleeding vessel, comprising the steps of: contacting said vessel with a shape-memory hemostatic staple; and applying heat to said staple so that said staple deforms leading to hemostatis in said vessel.</p> |
