METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SEPARATION OF PARTICLES IN SUSPENSION

FIELD: separation of mixture of immiscible solid and/or liquid particles in suspension on basis of difference in physical, magnetic and/or chemical properties of particles. SUBSTANCE: method consists in introducing the suspension flow into vertically oriented cylindrical chamber whose top is open; flow is introduced near lower end at inclination and tangentially relative to chamber to create spiral upward flow; introduction of flow is effected at sufficient volume and pressure to create vortex funnel which intends downward to end of chamber; air is introduced into flow through inner wall of chamber; height of chamber is sufficient for treatment in chamber required for separation of particles by means of centrifugal floatation; flow is changed to vortex at upper end of chamber; direction of vortex on the outside at open end to water receiving settler surrounding open end enables air bubbles to flow towards periphery edge of water receiving settler; air bubbles with light hydrophobic particles floating on the outside are entrapped from upper zone of water receiving settler while heavier particles settle on lower portion of settler for separation. EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
