The method for preparing and running an aircraft mission without a pilot includes determining the flight characteristics of the aircraft (1). Tactical data is then stored, defining at least one geographical region (11) corresp. to the mission area.A trajectory is then determined w.r.t a digital map of the area (6'), the geographical position of the region (11) and the position from which the aircraft is launched (2). The trajectory is compatible with the flight characteristics of the aircraft. The trajectory is then stored on memory on board the aircraft.
