The present invention relates to an ice making device and method for a refrigerator. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the ice making device for a refrigerator comprises: an ice making room which receives an ice making tray and stores ice therein; and a first refrigerant pipe in which the refrigerants circulated by a cooling cycle flows, wherein one or more side walls of the ice making room are made of a steel plate material, wherein one surface of the ice making tray is integrated with a cooling plate directly coming in contact with the steel side walls of the ice making room, and wherein the first refrigerant pipe is attached to the outer surface of the steel side walls of the ice making room by an aluminum tape. Therefore, the present invention increases an ice making speed and increases the amount of ice making. |
