PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove ozone from a gas and a liquid using a filter material. SOLUTION: The flow of a gas or a liquid is brought into contact with a filter material composed of a substituted polyarylene ether. This filter material can be used in all of ozone-containing flows of a gas and a liquid. Therefore, the use of the filter material is found out, for example, in the removal of ozone used in sterilization or generated in a copier and the removal and relaxation of ozone in a liquid.
