The present invention relates to a biometric information recognition apparatus and a method in which the biometric information recognition apparatus activates recognition columns and rows composed of a plurality of piezoelectric elements in various patterns. More specifically, the present invention relates to a biometric information recognition apparatus which can be utilized to identify an individual user by recognizing biometric information, such as a fingerprint, a blood vessel, a bone, or the like, and a method for driving the biometric information recognition apparatus. In particular, the present invention relates to the biometric information recognition apparatus in which the recognition columns and rows formed in the biometric information recognition apparatus can be activated in accordance with a specific pattern. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a method for scanning biometric information of a user, such as a fingerprint, a blood vessel, a bone, or the like, in various patterns by selectively activating the piezoelectric elements constituting the individual recognition columns and rows when activating the individual recognition columns and rows. The biometric information recognition apparatus comprises: a substrate; a plurality of piezoelectric elements which are formed in n^th recognition columns and m^th recognition rows, and are arranged on the substrate; and a control unit which selectively activates the piezoelectric elements. |
