PURPOSE: To restrain the occurrence of peak load due to bottoming even if an energy absorbing space is limited, or make the magnitude of peak load small. CONSTITUTION: This invention is concerned with the energy absorbing structure for a vehicular seat belt installation, which is equipped with a rail 16 disposed at the vehicle inner side of the inner panel 10 of a vehicle pillar formed out of the inner panel 10 and an outer panel, and with a slider 18 capable of being slid along the rail. An energy absorbing space 20 is provided between the inner panel and the rail, and rail 16 is deformed within the energy absorbing space, so that energy is thereby absorbed. Furthermore, a cut and raise section 24 is also provided, which is deformed by the rail for absorbing energy before the rail 16 is sufficiently deformed. |
