<p>PURPOSE: To obtain uniform-thickness articles by making it possible to position a baffle provided with plural blow holes in an upper stage and lower stage relative to the opening of a mold and executing settle blow with the upper stage and counter blow by closing the opening with the lower stage. CONSTITUTION: Gob G is charged into the mold 1 in the state of moving the baffle 7 to a retreat position from the opening 2 of the mold 1. Next, the baffle 7 having a solid hollow part and a conical part formed successively in the lower part is moved to the upper position corresponding to the opening 2 of the mold 1 and air is blown from the blow holes C to execute the settle blow and to bring the glass into tight contact with a neckring 4 and a plunger 6. The baffle 7 is then moved to the lower position to close the opening 2 and thereafter, the plunger is withdrawn from the rear neckring 4 and the air is introduced into the glass through the plunger 6 to apply the counter blow thereto, by which parison P is formed. The movement from the settle blow to the counter blow is made possible only by the vertical movement of the baffle 7 by a driving device, by which the time between both stages is remarkably shortened and the glass products having good quality are obtd.</p> |
