<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pressure loss and to impart high adsorbing capacity without lowering an adsorbing speed, in a filter composed of a self-supporting molded structure wherein adsorbent particles are mutually bonded by a binder, by specifying the particle size of the adsorbent particles and the m.p. of the binder. SOLUTION: In a regular or irregular shape adsorbent filter wherein regular or irregular adsorbent particles are mutually bonded by regular or irregular binder particles, when the m.p. range of the binder particles is lower than that of the adsorbent particles, the filter has irregular distribution of adsorbent and binder particles incapable of confirming a floc structure by the naked eye. The adsorbent particles have an average particle size of 100-7000μm and the binder does not spread on the surface of the adsorbent at a temp. below 100 deg.C. The binder particles are composed of a thermoplastic polyurethane consisting of a soft and a hard components and the adsorbent is composed of activated carbon.</p> |
