<p>PURPOSE: To reduce the expanding amount of an insulating pipe by dropping a rod with external thread in a pipe by rotating a handle and expanding the insulating pipe by inserting a pipe expanding pipe into the boundary between the insulating pipe and pipe together with a tapered pipe so as to reduce the wall thickness of the pipe. CONSTITUTION: An insulating pipe expanding jig is constituted in such a way that an insulating pipe 1 is arranged on the outside of the external surface of a pipe 12 which is fixed on a base 11 and carries an internal thread on the internal surface of its upper end section and a handle 17 which is turnable in a horizontal plane is attached to the upper end section of a rod 13 with external thread. When the handle 17 is turned in the horizontal plane, the rod 13 engaged with the internal thread of the pipe 12 descends in the pipe 12 and a pipe expanding pipe 2 and contamination preventing pipe 14 arranged on the outside of the rod 13 are inserted into the boundary between the pipes 1 and 12 together with a tapered metal parts 15 fitted to the front end of the pipe 2 and expands the pipe 1. After insertion, the pipe 1 into which the pipe 2 is inserted is taken out after removing the handle 17 and retaining metal parts 16 and inserted into a cable for connecting work. Therefore, the size of the jig can be reduced and the jig can be easily applied for field work.</p> |
