<p>A solution is provided to the problems arising from the storage and handling of volatile liquid compounds, and specifically from the recovery of vapours given off by such volatile compounds, whether organic or mineral. An essential aim of the method is the recovery of volatile compound vapours contained in a gas phase. Said method comprises compressing the gas phase (G) in the presence of a liquid (L) in order to condense G in L, separating G from L, recovering L, subjecting G to counter-current liquid absorption, and regenerating the absorption solvent by stripping. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also provided. The method and apparatus are useful for recovering volatile compound vapours in fuel storage areas.</p> |
