COORDINATE POSITION INPUT DEVICE

PURPOSE: To output the quantity of the sliding movement of an operation part as a relative quantity in a coordinate position input device used for an information equipment such as a personal computer. CONSTITUTION: This device is provided with an operation part provided with an original point returning means 6 capable of freely moving first and second permanent magnets 2 and 3 in horizontal direction while being mutually attracted and keeping the same distance from each other through >=3 spheres 5 disposed between both magnets, a detection means 8 for transforming the sliding movement of the operation part to an electric signal and a control means 9 for calculating the electric signal of the detection means 8. While the operation part slide-moves, the variation of the electric signal detected by means of the detection means 8 is calculated as the relative quantity, and when the operation part comes into contact with the opening part 7a of a case 7, displacing direction and displacing quantity from the original point are calculated as vector quantity from the electric signal from the detection means 8.
