FIELD: experimental and applied microbiology. SUBSTANCE: polymyxin B is adsorbed into plate well at concentration 5-15 mcg/ml and samples containing endotoxin were added. After incubation wells were washed out with phosphate-saline buffer and serum to avirulent strain B. pertussis N 347 taken at the 4-th growth phase is added into wells. Development of binding complement is carried out using antispecies conjugate in the presence of substrate-indicator mixture. Quantitative determination of WHOOPING cough endotoxin is carried out by comparative titration of analyzed sample and standard sample of endotoxin from B. pertussis. EFFECT: enhanced sensitivity and specificity of method.
