<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the compression effect equal to or over that of the IPEG method or the like without using discrete cosine transformation in the compression method of image information. CONSTITUTION: Image information expressed in RGB is converted into YIQ expression (100) and only color information (I.Q) is averaged for each square area of 4-pixel (200) and the averaged color information (I, Q) is stored as 4-pixel data (300). Then differential run length compression is applied to each of the luminance information (Y) and the color information (I.Q) after compression, that is, a difference between adjacent data is obtained and only data of the difference 0 are subject to run length coding (400), and Huffman compression is applied succeedingly (500), and then the compression processing is finished. When the image information is expanded and displayed, the processing reverse to the processing above is executed.</p> |
