<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a reproducing picture with high picture quality even at the time of variable speed reproducing by providing a changeover switch between one pair of main heads and one pair of auxiliary heads respectively and a tape feed control means. CONSTITUTION: The device is equipped with a rotary drum 51 mounted with one pair of main heads 2 and 4 and one pair of auxiliary heads 1 and 3 of inverted azimuth heads for particular reproducing, which are separated from each other at 180 deg. by 180 deg., head selection switches 21 and 22 and the tape feed control means. A magnetic tape 45 is wound around the rotary drum 51 by about 180 deg., and a changeover is made between the main heads 2 and 4 and the auxiliary heads 1 and 3 by the head selection switches 21 and 22. The tape feed control means are composed of a tape speed reference signal generator 37, a phase adjuster 38, a phase comparator 39, a capstan motor 44 and a capstan 44a. Then, at the same time that the changeover between the main heads 2 and 4 and the auxiliary heads 1 and 3 is made during a period of reproducing scan not to lower the min. value of a reproducing output to a fixed level, tape feed control is performed in synchronization with the rotation of the rotary drum 51.</p> |
