PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display and change the default state of a disk top icon by a user by displaying information to the user by a display device while a user communicates with a computer system, and applies an instruction to a computer system. SOLUTION: A user communicates through an inputting/outputting device (user control) controlled by a user interface adapter 22 with a computer system. A display device 38 displays information to the user while the user applies an instruction to the computer system by using a keyboard 24, indicator 26, and speaker 28. A communication adapter 34 controls communication between the computer system and the other processing systems connected through a network interface 40 with a network. A display adapter 36 controls communication between the computer system and the display device 38.
