<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method for decomposing waste plastics, whereby the continuous processing of waste plastics containing vinyl chloride resins can be performed, and the formation of hydrogen chloride can be suppressed to prevent the corrosion of the equipment and to facilitate the conversion into oils. CONSTITUTION: Waste plastics 10 containing vinyl chloride resins are introduced into molten caustic soda 3 held in a heating kettle 1, decomposition gases 4 are recovered from the top of the kettle 1, sodium chloride 6 is recovered from the bottom of the kettle 1, and carbon 8 is recovered from the liquid level of the molten caustic soda 3. The molten caustic soda consumed is made up by fresh solid caustic soda together with continuously introduced waste plastics 10.</p> |
