Provided are a protection switching processing method, apparatus and system for a path, and a forward device. The method comprises: a forward device in an SDN acquiring status information about a current path in a path protection group to which the forward device belongs, wherein the current path comprises a protection path and/or a working path; the forward device and other forward devices in the path protection group except for the forward device performing automatic protection switching APS negotiation; and making a comprehensive decision according to the result of the APS negotiation, a local external command and the status information, and performing a protection switching processing operation corresponding to a decision result of the comprehensive decision on the current path in the path protection group, wherein the external command is used to indicate the type of the control of the protection switching operation by the external. By means of the present invention, the problem that the existing path switching solutions cannot achieve rapid protection switching and cannot meet the requirement of a scenario having high real-time requirements is solved. |
