摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sorbent having high sulfur load ability and high compression resistance by specifying water content ratio and particle size of a moist composition at each stage of forming the moist composition by contacting a zinc component, a silica component, a colloidal oxide component and a pore generator component, extruding and sphering them. SOLUTION: A moist composition having a moisture content from about 22 to about 33 wt.% based on the weight of the moist composition is formed by contacting (i) at least one kind of zinc component consisting of zinc oxide or a compound convertible to zinc oxide, (ii) at least one kind of silica component consisting of silica or a compound convertible to silica, (iii) at least one kind of colloidal oxide component and (iv) at least one kind of pore generator component. Next, by extruding the composition, an extruded moist composition having a moisture content from about 22 to about 33 wt.% based on the weight of the moist composition is formed. Then the extruded moist composition is sphered to form a sphered and extruded, moist composition having a particle size of about 0.5 to about 15 mm.</p>
