The device is designed to sense and calibrate water level in a washing machine correctly and automatically according to the environment. The device includes : a water level sensing means (19) for generating a signal and converting water level into pressure/frequency; a temperature sensing means (20) for sensing ambient temperature of a washing machine; a micro computer (21) for calibrating the value of water level using ambient temperature and preset calibration reference value; and a memory means (22) for storing calibration reference value and supplying this value to the micro computer (21).
