Aminated regenerated cellulose fibres (I) are claimed, which are prepd. by mixing a viscose compsn., alkali cellulose or cellulose soln. with starch ether(s) (II) having a deg. of substitution of 0.1-3, which is etherified with 2-5 C alkylamine(s) (III). In (III), the alkyl gps. may be mono- or di-substd. by OH or OMe and the amino gp. is a prim. or 1-4 C alkyl-substd. sec., tert. or quat. amino or ammonium gp.
