WORM GEAR WITH A WORKING RING NUT

A worm gear for converting a rotational motion into a reciprocating motion has a threaded spindle (2) which is mounted via at least one needle bearing (5) in a working ring nut (22) which acts as a housing (21). A profiled working ring (19) engages at a point on the circumference with the worm gear of the threaded spindle (2) to effect axial displacement of the working ring nut (22). The latter encloses the threaded spindle (2) and is arranged eccentrically in relation to the spindle axis (3). It is enclosed by a radial roller bearing by which it is mounted in the housing (21) so as to rotate. According to the invention, the housing (21) is formed from rotationally symmetrical sheet metal components produced by deep drawing without cuttings and provided directly on their inner surfaces with the outer rolling element tracks for the bearings. This results in a simplified construction and easily assembled worm gear.
