PURPOSE: To provide an automatic focusing camera where a switch holding AF lock so that only photometry can be performed at the time of photographing and holding the AF lock in an autofocus mode is used also as a switch for designating the setting of a photographing distance in a manual focus mode. CONSTITUTION: In this automatic focusing camera, range-finding and photometry are performed when a shutter button 34 is half-depressed in the autofocus mode. By depressing an MF button 48, at such a time, the value of range-finding result is held as far as the MF button 48 is depressed even when the shutter button 34 is released. When the shutter button 34 is half-depressed again, only the photometry is executed. Meanwhile, by depressing the MF button 48 in the manual focus mode, the photographing distance can be set by an UP/DOWN dial 36 which is also used for the setting of various photographing items. The MF button 48 is used as the button for holding the AF lock in the autofocus mode and used as the button for designating the setting of the photographing distance in the manual focus mode. |
