PURPOSE: To improve display quality by using a sealant and sealing material having light shielding and insulating properties, thereby preventing the leakage of the light from a back light through the sealant and sealing material to a display surface. CONSTITUTION: The light shielding film 105 on a color filter substrate 110 is stretched to a sealant region and sealing region and is provided with an overlap in a partial region with the sealant 150 and the sealing material in addition, the sealant 150 and the sealing material are provide with light shielding. As a result, even if the sealant 150 and the sealing material are exposed on the display window of a shielding case SHD, external light 300 is absorbed by the light shielding film 105, the sealant 150 and the sealing material and the infiltration of the external light 300 into the liquid crystal display panel is prevented. The light from the back light is also absorbed by the light shielding film 105, the sealant 150 and the sealing material and, therefore, the leakage of the light from the back light to the display surface through the light shielding film 105, the sealant 150 and the sealing material and the consequent impairment of the display quality of the liquid crystal display panel are prevented. |
