Weaving reed for air weaving machine

A required number of part reeds (1), with filler piece (2) between them, form a weaving reed for air weaving machines. A continuous weft insert channel (3) is sub-divided into aligned sections (8,9) associated with the part reeds and the filler pieces. In the transition region (6) between one section (8) and the next (9) of the weft insert channel, the latter has a funnel-shaped enlargement w.r.t. the remaining channel. Pref. only the entry region of the section is enlarged in the vertical direction and may also be enlarged in the horizontal direction by the order of a few mm.
