The present invention discloses a method to make raw cornmeal griddlecake, characterized in that it comprises the steps of premixing corn flour paste in a mixer; extruding such paste; filling a forming cavity with paste to form raw cornmeal griddlecake which are placed between opposing surfaces in contact with forming members and, when said members come into contact with the cavity filling paste, said cavity is of predetermined dimensions, having a substantially circular transversal section along the plane in which said forming members come into contact, is substantially bilaterally symmetrical with respect to both the plane and central axis of the circle defined by the transversal section, and is of dimensions which increase more in the direction of the axis, from the circle edge towards the axis; causing the opposing surfaces of said forming members to move away from the raw cornmeal griddlecake, and to separate from each other a distance enough so as to allow the formed raw cornmeal griddlecake to be removed and prevent the forming members from interfering; and removing the raw cornmeal griddlecake from the forming members.
