The present invention discloses a disposable diaper composed of an impervious external layer and a pervious internal layer, which is in contact with a user skin when the diaper is used; an absorbent material layer which is between the external layer and the internal layer. The Internal and external layers are sealed on their peripheral contour around the absorbent material layer. The disposable diaper has two elastic bands arranged in its end portions which are located in the longitudinal centre thereof, for adjustment in the user waist; two tape flaps placed in the rear portion, attached to both the internal and external layers near the diaper corners, and a tape band over the impervious layer of the front layer, the above means forming a fastening system to be applied by the user. The diaper also has two impervious adjusting side barriers ("open fasteners"), which are assembled throughout their side end portions, throughout the diaper and substantially on the longitudinal edges of the absorbent material, at least in the crotch region and the tips of which are joined to the diaper end portions.
