<p>PURPOSE:To automatically lock a steering wheel by energizing a movable body in the lengthwise direction of a shaft member and engaging the first gear part with the second gear part via the energizing force of an energizing member. CONSTITUTION:When a drive mechanism is actuated, a retaining part 4 moves along a shaft member 2 and a movable body 43 also moves. In this state, the second gear part 50 of the movable body 43 and the first gear part 25 of the shaft member 2 come to be engaged with each other, upon the phase agreement thereof. In this case, even if the second gear part 50 of the movable body 43 and the first gear part 25 are not engaged with each other, the phases of the second gear part 50 and the first gear part 25 are made to agree by the fine- angle turn of the shaft member 2 using a steering wheel. Consequently, when both of the aforesaid gear parts 50 and 25 come to a synchronous position, the movable body 43 automatically moves to the side of the shaft member 2 due to the energizing force of an energizing member 44, and both gear parts 50 and 25 are so engaged with each other as to increase the engagement length thereof. According to the aforesaid construction, it is possible to prevent a car from being stolen.</p> |
