<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing a discharge amount of waste pulp and pellets by treating contaminants in pasty pulp sent from a pulping machine to a dumping boire by additional operation of screening, grinding and re- screening in a drum. SOLUTION: This method of separating fiber from contaminant comprises feeding paper to be treated (waste paper) and water supplied from a pipe 3 into a spiral-type pulping machine 1, producing pasty pulp, sending it to a dumping boire 3, sending contaminants through a pipe 4 to a drum 10 which has a screening room, a grinding room and an intermediate room located between the screening and grinding rooms and is supplied with water from the pipe 3, so that the material fed to the drum 10 to be treated is sent from the screening room to the grinding room via the intermediate room, and returned to the screening room via the intermediate room, taking fiber out of the screening room together with water, and discharging the contaminants to a conveyor 6 via a hopper 5.</p> |
