PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously achieve the electrophoresis of a number of specimens by arranging a plurality of cataphoresis plates with a space where a buffer liquid can pass in one buffer liquid bath in parallel in vertical direction and applying a voltage to an electrophoresis electrode. SOLUTION: A plurality of electrophoresis plates 3 are arranged in parallel in nearly vertical state on the bottom surface of a cataphoresis buffer liquid bath 1 within the bath 1 for housing a buffer liquid 4 and a voltage is applied to electrodes 2a and 2b. Then, since the electrodes 2a and 2b are arranged at the upper and lower parts of, for example, the opposite side walls of the liquid bath 1, a voltage is uniformly applied to a plurality of electrophoresis plates 3. Therefore, even if a number of gels are used, a nearly uniform electrophoresis can be made and a large number of specimens can be simultaneously subjected to electrophoresis. Also, the buffer liquid 4 can travel on the side surface of each electrophoresis plate 3 by a space between adjacent electrophoresis plates 3. Then, by cooling the buffer liquid 4, an excessive heat build-up of the electrophoresis plate 3 can be prevented and the resolution of electrophoresis can be improved. |
