PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain color filters of which the variations in the colors and densities of color elements accompanying with the occurrence of abnormality are suppressed by stopping the operation of the apparatus after the formation of certain color elements is finished when abnormality occurs during the formation of such color elements. SOLUTION: The color elements of the color filters 54 are formed by relatively moving an ink jet head 55 and a color filter substrate 54 set on an X, Y, θstage 52, discharging ink from the nozzles of in ink jet head 55 synchronized with the relative moving and imparting ink of R, G, B to the prescribed positions on the substrate 53. The ink imparting stage is stopped after the formation of the color elements under the formation in the ink imparting stage ends when a non-discharge detector 57 connected to a television camera 56 detects the non-discharge of the ink jet head 55 at the time of the ink imparting stage and outputs the stop signal to instruct the stop of the operation. The interrupted formation processing of the color elements is restarted when the stop signal is released. |
