<p>An air filter housing (12) including top (14) and bottom (16) housing portions joined by a catch (42). The housing portions each include a plurality of walls joined together to define an enclosure with and opening (22, 26) circumscribed by an edge (20, 24). The edge of each portion includes a surface (44) for contacting a seal (32) disposed between the surfaces when the housing portions are joined to form the filter housing. The portions are joined by a hinge assembly (36) and a catch (42) which extends along a side of the filter housing to compress the seal (32) between the portions to form a generally air-tight seal therebetween. Typically the seal is integral with a filter element (34) which is in an air flow path between openings in the housing portions.</p> |
