Objects such as floor panels (10,10') are moved relative to each other by a device containing two pads (1,2) that can be moved together and apart, each pad is provided with at least one suction head (3) that can be coupled via an air line system (12') to a single compressed air source which generates a non-atmospheric air pressure in the main air line (8) in order to create a vacuum at the suction heads and thereby attach the objects to the pads. The same non-atmospheric pressure also activates a power generating unit (17,18) between the pads, which forces the pads to move relative to each other. Units (26,27) in the device ensure that the objects remain attached to the pads by suction during movement of the pads. |
