PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a need for a power switch operation at a charger side and to suppress useless power consumption in the inside of the charger. SOLUTION: In the system where a charger 2 is connected to a portable telephone set 3 to supply power to the portable telephone set 3, a power terminal A and a detection terminal C are provided to the portable telephone set 3 and the charger 2 for the respective connection. Then the charger 2 is provided with a detection power supply circuit 32 outputting detected power to supply the detected power to the portable telephone set 3 via the power terminal A, and a path 35 is provided to the portable telephone set 3 to lead the detected power supplied to the detection terminal C via a power switch 32 turned on/off by an external operation input. Furthermore, the charger 2 is provided with a detection circuit 25 detecting the detected power led to the detection terminal C and a main power supply circuit 24 turned on by the detection circuit 25 detecting the detected power to supply power to the portable telephone set 3 via the power supply terminal A. |
