PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine chords matching the progress of music. SOLUTION: A table memory is stored with sounding timing patterns T1, T2, T3...Tm , Tm+1 ... of a musical performance section of two beats, pitch difference patterns P1, P2, P3...Pm , Tm+1 ... corresponding to those patterns, and chord- tones information corresponding to those patterns. The pitch difference patterns represent pitch differences between adjacent sounds as semitone numbers. After musical performance information on desired music is divided by every two beats, patterns corresponding sounding timing and pitch differences are searched for in the table memory, section by section, and chord-tones information corresponding to the searched patterns are read out of the table memory. On the basis of the chord-tones information, chords are determined, section by section. The sounding timing and pitch relation may be stored together without being separated. |
