<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying hydrogen capable of making the exchanging periods of adsorption at an ambient temperature and adsorption at a low temperature as the same length and also extending the exchanging period to several hundreds hr. SOLUTION: This method for purifying hydrogen is to introduce a raw material hydrogen into ambient temperature adsorption towers 6, 7 for removing the first impure gas component in the raw material hydrogen by adsorption, and then the raw material hydrogen passed through the ambient temperature adsorption towers 6, 7 into low temperature adsorption towers 8, 9 for removing the second impure gas component in the raw material hydrogen by adsorption. And preceding to the introduction of the raw material hydrogen into the ambient temperature adsorption towers 6, 7, the raw material hydrogen is heated by passing through a heater 3 disposed before a catalyst tower, then the raw material hydrogen gas passed through the heater 3 is passed through a catalyst tower 4 for bringing the gas into contact with a catalyst to form methane and water from carbon dioxide gas and carbon monoxide contained in the raw material hydrogen, then the resultant mixture is introduced into the ambient temperature adsorption towers 6, 7 to remove water in the raw material hydrogen and then introduced into the low temperature adsorption towers 8, 9 to remove methane in the raw material hydrogen.</p> |
