MANUFACTURE OF PRINTED CAN HAVING EXCELLENT DESIGN CHARACTERISTIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to form printed layers satisfying all of workability, heat resistance, wear resistance, brightness, etc., by curing specific ink and coating materials by irradiation with UV rays, then executing various kinds of the moldings necessary for maintaining designs and strength, subjecting molded cans to a short time of heat treatment to thermally cure the UV curing films. SOLUTION: The ink and coating materials having a UV curing property and thermosetting property in combination or the ink and coating materials which has the UV curing property and is imparted with the thermosetting property by irradiation with UV rays is selectively used as the ink and coating material. Various kinds of the moldings, such as neck forming or bead forming of the printed cans, necessary for maintaining the designs and strength are then executed, but before such molding, the curing of the ink and the coating materials by the irradiation with the UV rays, is executed and, after such molding, the molded cans are subjected to the short time of the heat treatment to thermally cure the UV curing films. Then, the printed layers have the excellent heat resistance, wear resistance, etc., and withstand the retort sterilization and the collision and rubbing of the cans against each other.
