<p>The invention is directed to document ramp accumulators. Prior art document ramp accumulators typically are designed to handle a single paper size, or have been adjustable only through time-consuming procedures, e.g., the loosening and tightening of various set screws. The invention overcomes these deficiencies by providing tool-less adjustment to accomodate a plurality of paper sizes. The accumulator (1) includes shafts (71, 73, 78) laterally oriented across a paper path, a guide element (45, 46) and ramp (39) mounted to the shafts for contacting and guiding documents transported through the accumulator, a connector (33a-33d, 39) for slidably connecting the guide element and ramp to the shafts, and a compressible O-ring (35, 44) inserted between the shafts and the connector for imparting friction therebetween, whereby the guide element and ramp can be translated along the shaft without the use of a tool.</p> |
