The tube and bag making machine (10) has a tube forming device (11), consisting of a shaping shoulder (14) and a shaping tube (15). This device forms a tube (12) from a continuously-fed endless heat-sealing packing strip (13). The longitudinal seam sealing device (25) is in the form of two heated welding belts running opposite each other. They are continuously driven and run at the same speed as the tube. The seam thus runs at the same speed as the tube, avoiding sliding abrasion.
