PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the optical module, which eliminates the need for a special aligning process and is sealed relatively easily and easy to handle, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: This optical module inputs and outputs light to and from a light emitting element or light receiving element 4 through an optical fiber. Then this module is equipped with a V-groove fitting substrate 3 where two V grooves 31 are formed and the light emitting element or light receiving element 4 which is positioned and fixed to the V-groove fitting substrate 3 on the basis of the V grooves 31. Further, the module is provided with a package 5 where the V-groove fitting substrate 3 is fixed and a sealing glass window 2 which is fitted to the window hole 51 of the package to seal the window hole while two guide pins 1 are fitted engaging the V grooves 31. |
