<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the problem such as the tape in a cassette is damaged by the sudden collision with a tape guide of the side surface of a magnetic head, in a on-vehicle tape recorder, etc., when the magnetic head is moved to the reproducing position to execute the reproducing operation in response to the loading operation of a cassette holder capable of holding the tape cassette. SOLUTION: The tape damage preventing device 10 is arranged between a head mounting plate 7 placing the magnetic head 8 thereon and a chassis 1. When the head mounting plate is moved in the direction B of reproducing position by the pressing force of a spring 11 at the time of loading the cassette, a piston 16 connected to this head mounting plate is moved in a cylinder 15 to change the volume in the cylinder, but the air streaming resistance between the inside and outside of the cylinder is increased in the manner of blocking air holes 20, 21 by elastic valve members 19, thereby the moving speed of the piston is suppressed. As the result, the rapid moving speed of the head mounting plate 7 is gradually reduced. Thus, the sudden collision of the tape guide 12 against the tape 13 in the cassette 5 does not occur, and the tape is prevented from damaging.</p> |
