PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent defective forming from occurring by stabilizing the operations of a plunger. SOLUTION: This apparatus for forming a blank mold of a bottle producing machine is equipped with a plunger driving device, constituting a blank mold device and provided with a driving mechanism 21 capable of performing operations to lift and lower a plunger 1 and thereby making the plunger perform operations to rise and sink in a forming mold. The driving mechanism 21 is capable of converting the normal and reverse rotation of an AC servo motor 23 comprising an integrally assembled positional sensor 45 therein into reciprocating motion with a power converting mechanism 24 using the AC servo motor 23 as a driving source. The plunger 1 is coupled to the power converting mechanism 24 and a controller is capable of controlling the operations of the plunger 1 through the AC servo motor 23 based on a sensed positional signal inputted with the positional sensor 45.
