Vehicle headlamp design

The headlamp reflector is shaped with two sections, divided by a vertical plane. Light reflected from the two sections is thrown forwards, at an angle to the headlamp, but does not cross, as in conventional headlamps. This prevents a concentration of light at the crossing point which leads to hot spots. The lens (4,5) is mounted in the light beam to focus/spread the beam. The lens plate has surface structuring on one side to provide the beam spreading. It is made of plastic. The lamp source has a shield to prevent direct light emission out of the front of the lamp.
