Thus, the exchange of the information on amount of money becomes possible between the electronic purse part 2 and other electronic purse terminals. When an automatic answering setting switch 2d is operated when one is out, etc., an automatic answering state is set and the switch 2h is normally closed to the side of the telephone set 4. When a line monitoring part 2g detects the request from other electronic purse terminals via the communication line 3, the purse arithmetic processing part 2e switches the switch 2h to the side of the purse modem part 2f and only the receipt of the information on amount of money from the other electronic purse terminals can be performed.
