The present invention refers to an iron mold for pouring in metals cord, comprising an open hollow space between two opposite frontal ends, the transversal section of which is larger in the pouring frontal end (4) than that in the extrusion outlet frontal end (5). To achieve a higher pouring capacity, and achieve a better extrusion quality by an even temperature distribution on the extrusion transversal section, the hollow space has been conically configured, and the cooling end surface, which is spaced apart in the iron mold (1) hollow space, comprises at least a field (2) with a high heat transference coefficient. The cooling end surface preferably includes a partially corrugated surface structure at the field of the iron mold (1) bath level (2), said surface being reduced in the pouring direction.
