PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breaking and dividing method suited for mass-producing broken and divided connecting rods. SOLUTION: Pallets 10, 10... are moved in one direction. A split dividing jig 15 that moves back and forth as an expansion member 12 expands and contracts is provided on the pallet 10. While the pallet is moving, the expansion member 12 is supplied with electricity and heated to bring the dividing jig 15 closer. An integral molding 20 of a connecting rod before breaking is dividing are put on the pallet 10, its large end inserted into the dividing jig 15. Then the expansion member 12 is cooled to move the dividing jig 15 away to break and divide the large end of the integral molding 20 of the connecting rod into the rod and cap sides. |
