<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-base ink which gives a print having improved water resistance and does not cause nozzle plugging by mixing a specified dispersant with a dye and an antifoamer. SOLUTION: The dispersant used is a compound represented by formula I (wherein R' is a 1-10C hydrocarbon group or OH; R" is a 1-5-C hydrocarbon group; M is a monovalent cation; and (I)is 1-1,000). Its amount of use is 0.01-10wt.%. The dye used is one included in a polyester suspension. Namely, a dye together with a polyester obtained by copolycondensing a diol component represented by formula II (wherein R is ethylene or propylene; (x) is 1 or greater; and x+=2-7) with an acid component selected from among at least dibasic carboxylic acids, anhydrides thereof and lower esters thereof and having an acid value of 3-70mgKOH/g is dissolved in a solvent, a neutralizing agent is added to the solution, water containing a compound represented by formula I is added thereto, and the mixture is converted into a water-based one by removing the solvent. The antifoamer used is represented by formula III (wherein R1 to R3 are each an alkyl or an aryl; R5 and R6 are a 1-10C alkyl or the like; and (m) and (n) are each 0-1,000).</p> |
